Is it kinda weird that I'm only 17? A lot of people on here are over 21 already, so I feel like the outcast.

I know I've hollered about bein old and stuff. Reason is because I started turnin wrenches in 1974 when I was nine. I'm 44, so I've been at it for 35 years. I was the youngest ASE Certified Technician in Georgia's ASE history at 13. I was an ASE master Tech at 17. I've always had a knack for fixin stuff and always been doin it. That, plus the fact that my parents were 40 years my senior.....and everybody else around me.....always felt older than I was I guess. I was disable in 1999 by a practical joke at work. I've really not hit a lick since as a mechanic, although I do service our own stuff with the help of my son. I also do consultation work for dealers in the area, although with economy suckin hind tit, that's kinda dried up. All my mechanic friends are REALLY old. They got to see and help train me through the years so they kinda look at me as their child. I've had a lot of fun through the years, though so I can't complain. Right now, I'm training my son in small engine repair. Business is actually right good, too. I had a good reputation in the area and folks already know my name so it just kinda clicked real good. Maybe it'll keep the boy outta trouble. Who knows?

My 24 year ols son had just busted his butt trying to jump this small hill so I had to show him how to do it the right way.
