Question Airaid Intake with Outerwears Prefilter

I am looking into installing a Airaid intake with the Outerwears pre-filter but that poses a question: How exactly does the Outerwears pre-filter work against water? And wouldn't it restrict normal airflow when it is on? I tried looking into it on the web but would keep getting routed to a web site to purchase the product.

Let me know if anyone has ideas on how this works or where I can look it up.

A prefilter WILL NOT stop water and it is not water resistant. The Pre-filter is made for people who drive in very dusty conditions (silt & fine dusts). The pre-filter will ensure these smaller particules do not make it past your Airraid filter into your intake. Also, the pre-filter will help reduce the amount of times you have recharge/clean your filter. The prefilter will not restrict your air flow.
