alittle help?
Spare on the hood, roof rack, platforms for people to shoot and or take pictures from, "expedition" style narrow tires, some sort of camo paint scheme...whether it's animal stripes, or african outback colors. All these can be done, but the spare on the hood thing is sorta impractical. The hood will never support it and it would be a bitch to see around. Someone on here discussed it a while back and discovered it wouldn't work.
how is this hard to get?
i just want the look...like snorkel or a rack or sometihng...idk.
im tryin to get some input...i dont want a damn rover or anything like that...its nota question with some hidden meaning..was a simple on..damn

OK, OK. Let's be serious. Judging solely by your JK profile:
Your JK is black, which is one my favorite colors, BUT expeditionary vehicles are about blending with environment. Black only blends with darkness, so if you seriously need to change to a more earthy flat color scheme.
Your JK is a Sahara with stock shinny aluminum wheels with wide tires.
Expeditionary vehicles traditionally have steel wheels painted in some drab color, with narrow aggressive thread tall tires.
You are on the right track with the rack. A monster Gobi rack with a ladder going up the back would be a step in the right direction. This would really hamper your ability to go into places like your garage.
Lots of lights would add to the look (eg PIAs = $$$). A few on the rack, a few on the windshield and plenty on the front bumper.
You can also add mounts for Jerry cans and nylon water tanks.
To top it off, make some decals with a theme like "Race Across Africa", "Gobi Challenge" or the "Serengeti Shindig".

I thought a number of people gave you some pretty good ideas. Snorkels and racks were mentioned. Narrow off-road tires. Racks on the rear bumper.
I agree, there were some good ideas posted above. For it to look like your basic Safari Vehicle, I'd suggest some type of a paint scheme, like mentioned above, or have it repainted with matching color wheels, like a Flat Sand, Flat Tan, or Olive Drab color. The Roof Rack, Lights, Snorkel, and Brush Guards, would also add to the look. For the Top, you could use the Safari Tops like Bestop makes, and run with the Doors off if you wanted.
Drop us a pic of some ideas when you can. In the meantime, here's another pic to add to the pot of ideas.

Best of Luck!
Cheers!

A roof rack and a snorkel would be a good start.
Full coverage bumpers also lean more towards "expedition" and less towards "crawler".
Half doors might help when you're running with the soft top or no top.
The ORE rear tire carrier with a couple of Jerry cans would probably help.
Get rid of anything chrome. (although I kinda think that's worth doing just from an esthetic point of view)

I ran into this article while roaming the net and I remember this thread:
