Not trying to pick a fight but...what's your point ?. You sound like all you care about is how anything would benefit you, I guess using this forum for free is not enough ?

You my friend sound like a perfect example of this:

Dave at Northridge 4x4 is a great guy who is there when you need him. Plus ... free shipping when your order is over 100 bucks, can't beat it

RJ,

I'm not sure how much you really browse this forum, but you will find that all of these sponsoring vendors have reps on here as well. You can contact them directly and they will help you out any way they can. The greatest benefit is not the discounts you can get, but the direct access that you get to these companies and their expertise. I have used out vendors, I appreciate out vendor, hell I'm chatting on FB with some of our vendors. It's not always about he money, mostly it's about the service and the access to ansers from people how know, not order takers on a catch-all website.

Just my 2 cents, but I have been browsing the forum for a few years and have learned a ton from the members and vendors. I ordered my Teraflex leveling kit from Northridge 2 years ago, never put it on my other JK but decided to put it on the new one. Northridge was awesome when I emailed them, I received a quick response and they were very helpful. I pm'd the Teraflex people on here, had an answer and link to a video that would help and solve my problem within hours. Regardless of how they join the forum the vendors have been beyond helpful and that's what will keep me buying their products. It really is rare today to find people who care about earning and keeping your business.

I received a significant discount from DTD on black Monday. I received the wrong wheels 5 days later. I called them that night and they sent me return labels via email before I was off the phone. Probably could have gotten off sooner if they weren't being so apologetic. I received my correct wheels very soon thereafter.

David at Northridge4x4 was about $60 cheaper than anyone else on the lift I purchased.

These guys have won a loyal customer and I only would have known to contact them via the forum.

FYI... I spent a great deal of time searching for the best deals off the forum on both items above and these 2 forum sponsors gave the best deals.

Good luck purchasing from people that do not have a proven record on a forum that has over 60,000 members.

From the advice that I have received on this thread...I called both retailers directly...
Travis at Vector said he didn't need to discount the products I was ordering as they were their best sellers...fair enough...when I told him I was ordering from Canada he told me I couldn't order online anyways and would send me a PayPal PO tomorrow...and he said he will includes $10 off.

The Quadratec rep told me that he was unaware of discounts through forums and all of that would have to be handled through the forum rep...I would have to place my order through him...
For a $37.99 part I was charged $20 shipping and received no discount.

Both orders were placed anyways as its not really worth my time to try and save a few bucks hunting down the right people...

After asking the question and then following up with orders I still do not believe there is much point in purchasing products from sponsored vendors.

I did make sure to click through this site's link to the vendors so Wayoflife gets the click credit. Doing my part in supporting this site, I guess.

I hope HE spends HIS sponsorship money wisely...I still had to pay full retail.

If you say you are on this forum, Quadratec will at least give you free shipping. Just wanted you to know so you could save on shipping on future purchases. I have already saved a ton of cash this way ordering from them. Plus it makes sense for me living in VA being close to PA. I have received items 1 day after shipment before on regular free shipping.

I placed my first order today with quadratec as I just got a jeep 2 weeks ago. Quadratec rep was extremely friendly and helpful. I did get free shipping on floor mats because I am a member of this forum. Saved me $14. Was a great experience.

What you just said here is exactly why I no longer purchase from Quadratec. Before I became a member of this community, I had friends that had their magazines and acted like this was the only off road retailer anywhere. As I learned more, I realized there were better deals to be had with other companies. Their shipping is ridiculous.

And as for the "Forum Rep" thing, that's hilarious! Not that I'm out to get a discount on everything I order or anything, but for such a company to not know if it existed or not... well, let just say that I work for a very large company (not bragging, just proving a point) and I know that if you asked me a question about a discount or anything of that sort, I'd know or would have found the answer for you then and there! If that is how the conversation really went, as you said, then that sales rep just gave the attitude of "Oh, I don't know, you'd have to talk to someone else, I don't have time for that, do you wanna buy this or not?" Screw that! No way to treat a customer. Yeah... I'm sick of how some of the off-road companies treat customers. Thus why I primarily use Northridge 4x4. I don't owe David anything and nor do I get any special treatment from NR4x4, but he has always been more than accommodating and he seems to know his customers, literally.

Update: I guess I get special treatment from NR4x4 because of their great service :-)
