Absolutely not! This makes sense to me.

Youve already done the hard wheeling. Do something that suits your lifestyle. Build your jeep for what you're going to use it for...period!

I hear ya!

Sounds like you're ready for more "expedition" wheeling vs. rockcrawling with no destination or purpose.

Having kids 12 years ago moved me into this way of thinking. Prior to kids it was break it on Saturday and fix it on Sunday rock wheeling that got very expensive.

The more beat up mine gets, the more I agree with you. If I did it again (and I'll never be able to afford it), I'd not go so crazy. 2" BB, 35s, better rock rails.

I think quite often of stripping mine back down and starting over.

A problem I just discovered is that 33"s are costing just slightly less than 35"s, if not the same price

What the hell??

Good point. But I can say with all honesty that I put a 35" on the tail gate of both JK's w/o any issue.

Yes, pretty much exactly how I feel! The out-of-wack factor is HUGE in regards to having to buy that one extra part every few weeks too. Not that I wouldn't consider that one of the more fun aspects of owning a Jeep though. PARTS!!!! Gotta love 'em!
^^ Yep, all of that and more... One part leads to another. . . and another. . . I looked back at some pics of the last JK the other day and thought about lifting the '12. I'm gonna ride it out and see if passes. . .

lol...Rule18, that's so funny that you are under the delusion that your desire to lift your '12 will pass. As adamant as I am about not lifting mine...the thought still sneaks in (almost daily). I'm at Lake Tahoe right now and every JK that I've seen is lifted. Love it, love it, love it.

Ugh, I know. . . For that matter, I know I'll do it, it's more a matter of how long I can hold out... If there's one thing I did manage to learn (and retain) from the last rig, it's not to go half way and blow more money later. Do it right the first time. SO I'm skipping the leveling and will eventually go for the lift.

Have fun in Tahoe!!

You will not believe this but we were on our way out of Tahoe today and guess who we saw...our very own JK superstars...Wayoflife (Eddie) and his wife Cindy. I've never met them before but saw his unmistakable license plate on a totally awesome modded-out JK. My husband, who didn't understand why I was so excited, made a u-turn and pulled up beside them so we could introduce ourselves. It was very cool to meet someone from the forum, especially the people who started it all.

I've had similar experiences with other people from the forum, each time I did it was like finding a long lost buddy.
