Default American Jeep

Everyone needs to act fast. If you have an '08 or '09 (so far) Wrangler you will have a true American owned and built Jeep. Not a German or an Italian Jeep.
Hurry, they won't be the same in a week or so.

umm. the JK is already designed by Germans. They'll just build'em here anyway, why pay import taxes.

You think a JK is 100% made in the USA? I'll look at my window sticker, I believe it's has a break down on the USA/ Canada/Mexico parts ratio.

Parts from Mexico - aren't a bunch of them built in Canada too?

There is no such thing as all-american products any more. Materials come from all over the globe. Intellectual capital comes from all over the globe. That's the way it's been for a long time now, no going back.

I thought the US taxpayers and the US labor unions now own the company?

The new American way.

I am keeping my JK. After I am done with it, I will be buying from companies that did not take the bail out cash..

Wheels from China... Parts from all over the globe. We live in global marketplace, now. That's just the way it is.

Many might say that if a company is based in the USA that makes it's products 'American'. Kinda hard to say.

What's more American? A Ford made in Mexico or a Toyota made in the USA?

Yup .. may be no Jeep at all when Chrysler Liquidates and Fiat gets tired of these silly Americans. FIAT already said they are walking away if deal isn't done by June 15 ...
