Default America's/Discount tire replacement certificates

What's your opinion on the replacement certicate that discount tires offer? Looking to get 5 duratracs at about $260 each and each replacement cert is $36. Unless I read it incorrectly, is it only good for 3 years? I realize 1 popped tire and its worth it. What do most of you guys do?

I've got it and used it three times. Never for offroad stuff but nails in sidewalls and whatnot.

I've used it once and was worth every penny. They sent out 3 tires without too many questions.

IMO- the service they give me, I've got no reason to not spend the extra couple bucks and now they're the only place I buy tires.

I have it for all 5 of my km2s 35". They've covered me for nails in tread, nails in sidewall, blown the bead while wheeling and a large sidewall puncture while wheeling.

It's an awesome system and cheap insurance in the long run. You could get shady and only get one tire covered and just take that "one" on when there's a problem, but I'm an honest guy and don't mind paying 20-30$ for insurance on a $260 tire!

I've gone through almost 5 sets of tires from them between my old truck/blazer/another truck, and two jeeps.
I've never bought the warranty, but also , i have been very lucky and never had to use it.

That being said, I'm someone who almost never buys a warranty for anything. I figure I have saved hundreds if not thousands not ever buying a warranty for anything, more than enough to replace anything that breaks

my 2 cents

I hear you on that. Im geeting sick of constantly being asked to "would you like the extended warranty?". I never buy them either, but for the tires I think i will.

Default Make sure you LIKE your store...

If you get a cert. and your local store starts acting hinky- move along to another store. They promote fast so sometimes youll get "managers" that know less than us educated consumers, even in regards to their own policies.

I would have bought 6 new tires by now. That's 250$ ea, paying even $50 for a replacement is an easy choice.
