Default Annoying tapping in the Driver's Door

Since there are more people with JK's over here, I figured I would ask, basically under all conditions I hear a tapping in my Driver's door. It first only happened occasionally, but over the past 2 weeks or so it's been constant.

It feels like the door does not shut properly. Oh I have a X Unlimited.

Any suggestions?

I just started hearing it in mine. Door closes fine, but the passenger side has to be slammed to get it to shut.

Yeah my driver's door has to be slammed to get it to shut, and really the passenger door too. The back doors are fine.

It turns out my driver's door was out of alignment, so they are going to pay to have a body shop correct it. It has seemed like I have had to slam the door ever since I got it.

Default Door tapping noise

I'm sure this isn't your problem but back in the 70's when I was just out of high school I worked at a Cadillac dealership in Spokane. A customer brought his new Eldo in he'd purchased a couple of days earlier. He loved the car but it had a weird tapping noise inside the drivers door so the service writer asked me to drive it and take a look. Sure enough when driving there was a clanking inside the door so we rolled it into the shop and took off the handles and inner door panel. Inside the door there was an end wrench suspended by wire -put there on purpose by a factory worker- with a little note on a wire tag which read "Did you hear me knocking. It serves you right you rich son-of-a-Bitch" The service manager hung it in his office where it stayed for years afterward.

I had that in a chevy pic-up , and it is annoying !!Sometimes I thought it was because the door was on to tight , like pressure noises. Sometimes I felt like pulling over and ripping the pannel off. W/out any tools !!

I have adjusted my doors 4 times and i still do not have them right. Though the close ok i now have the tapping sound. It is coming from the door riding on the striker on my jk. Hopefully the vext adjustment i will be able to keep my doors closing ok and get rid of the tapping or knocking noise. close your door slowly and from the outside look to see how the striker lines up with the latch opening. It should be centered. But what do I know mine does it too!

The door on the passanger's side was making that anoying noise until i dicided to unbolt the hinges from the body and the upper hinge actually popped into place. It looks like they installed the lower hinge and pryed the door and bolted the upper hinge. It took 3 times to get it right but the noise is gone and the door is adjusted. I no longer need to slam the door to shut it and the door no longer pops open like it did before. Now i need to paint around the hinges and the bolts before they start to rust!

Ha, ha!!! I unbolted my front passenger door today and realligned it. Now it shuts as easy as the others. My wife will be happy that she no longer has to slam it to get it shut. It was snowing today, so I just sprayed around the hinges with WD-40 until it warms up and gets dry enough to touch up the paint.

I am getting this noise too...I have had the door/striker thing done before, but it is definitely still there in the driver door. I tightened thr two screws in the door panel...still there! Any other thoughts!?
