Default Another Service Dept. Rant

Well, after having the throwout bearing TSB done a couple weeks ago the sound has now come back. My past dealership has been pretty ratty so this time I decided to go a little further out of my way to another dealership to have the TSB done again along with the Clutch Plate TSB and some other things I have been noticing. So 2 weeks ago I went in and they said yeah we hear everything and were going to order the parts and they should be in in about 3 days.

Well, a week later I get a call saying there in and come on in to get it fixed. So yesterday I drop it off as soon as they open with hopes it being fixed that day as I am leaving for New Orleans for work on Thursday (which they have none about since I took it in to begin with). Get a call later that day with the service manager telling me that the past dealership stripped a few bolts in the driveshaft and they cant get my Jeep back on the road until the get the bolts in, which they said should come in tomorrow (today now).

Call today around noon to see the progress and they now say the bolts probably wont be in for another week. So now Im stuck without a Jeep and I wont be able to make my trip down to New Orleans until some time next week. I will say I love my JK but in the year Ive owned it, its been in the shop more days in a year then 5 years of owning my Tj. I just hope when and if I do get it back that the damn thing is fixed this time.

Since the stripped bolts are a dealer issue why did they not give you a loaner or rental?

Im sure they would give me a loaner but not one to drive to New Orleans where Im going to spend the next 3 weeks. Hopefully the parts come in soon and I dont have to worry about it. Regardless I still love my Jk.

Unhappy Sorry man

If I was you I would go to your first stealer and strip his "bolts"

People that don't know the JK shouldn't be allowed to work on them and break the things I could do myself,

couldnt agree more.. Chrysler should allow the public to perform their own warranty work and chrysler will supply the parts, just do it on an exchange program, well send in the bad part for inspection..

dealerships just dont care enough to take care of things and do it right.
