Agreed. It's the same thing on motorcycles. On any given summer day you'll pass dozens of them. I can see if you live in a rural area where you don't see too many people very often, but if you live in or near a big city, it just becomes ridiculous after a while.

BTW, I don’t see the association between common personable courtesies like opening doors, and saying please & thank you, to waving at a stranger passing by simply because they chose to drive the same type of vehicle as you.

More often than not what I’ve experienced is I’ll be driving along on the highway in the granny lane doing the speed limit (or below) as I typically do, and some big (cool looking) moded Jeep will have to make it a point to speed right past me and get in front of me to attempt to try and prove something (I think). I’ve just learned to accept this as normal behavior on I-25 in Denver during business hours as most people drive like the world is coming to an end anyways.

I try to wave at all jeeps, but do see most Jeeps are now driven by the dreaded soccer mom and none of them even look to see other Jeeps let alone wave. I think they are taking over.

Perhaps we all need big foam hands to wave with that way people have to acknowledge the wave!

Why are you typically driving "below" the speed limit on the highway during business hours?!? Honestly, I dont think the cars passing you are trying to "prove something" - they are just trying to get home!

Ya, if you are doing the speed limit or below on the highway, I'm one of the ones passing you, and if the lane is clear in front of you, I'll get back into the 'granny' lane, as your supposed to (and now required by law to do in some states). I'm not trying to prove anything, just trying to get home before the zombies attack.
