Default Anyone have a knocking at start up?

Mine does it after setting for hours. I realize the oil pressure needs to pump up, but geesh, I've never had a new vehicle that sounds like this! It's only a few seconds, but it sounds like a 200,000 mile clapped out POS for those few seconds. I'm around 1700 miles, this motor should be tight! If most have it, I'll feel a little better.

I have no knocking, unless I forget to unlock the door for my wife.

Sometimes if mine has been setting for awhile , the a/c compresser makes an odd noise when you first crank it both jeeps 07 4 dr and 07 2dr. But I don't think it's knock.

do you park on an incline? my drive way is at about a 30 degree angle, and i've been told my several mechanics that this will drain fuel from the line back into your gas tank.

try turning your key to the "run" position for about 3 or 4 seconds before you actually crank it up. this should put fuel back in the line. after i found this out i've never heard that knocking sound again.

I had a strange sound at startup yesterday....I park on a slight incline and the JK had been sitting there well over half a day. It almost sounded like something got caught in a belt or fan....I turned it off and went to check it out...didnt do it again. I guess time will tell

Great! No, mine sounds like main bearing clearance, but again, only for 2 seconds at the most. Oh well, maybe I'll get to use the lifetime powertrain warranty in 5 or 10 years

See my thread here

I still have it and have no idea what it is. I don't park on an incline and my oil is fine. I need to get someone to start it while I am underneath to see if I can locate the source. I have thought of my wife giving me a hand but I think the temptation of my life insurance may be too much for her
