Obviously for the Unlimited guys, but when I fold the rear seats down, for my dogs, I always have to stuff four towels to fill in the huge gap left where the hinges are...

Is there anything on the market that will make the rear cargo area flat and fill in the gap?

would be ok, but I do use the rear seats from time to time...

I am thinking I could make a mold of the space, put plastic down, foam the spot, then transfer the foam to a board of thin MDF.

I can then cover the board with a blanket or carpet.

Think that could work?

sounds ok but complicated. Could you just cut a piece of plywood to lay across the gap? If it works, paint it black and maybe stick some velcro on it to hold it in place.

Towels ... Four black towels work perfectly

We use dog beds for ours, put a few of the smaller cheap ones in the cracks and then two large ones on top for them to lay on. Works great for our three large dogs.

My standard poodle prefers to ride in the front seat, so I just make the kids ride in the back!!
