Anyone wish they waited for the 2012 3.6?

im hating this already and havent even got a vin number yet on order !
i supose ill have to paint it darker grrrrrrrr! hate the thought of changing shit already on a 12 including door accents ! just dont like light silver on anything and chrome is nuts even i realy hate chrome in a jeep !
Only the Sport's have the dark graphite-like trim,...I suppose Fiat-Chrysler assume that the shinier the trim the richer the feel?

I guess you could look for a 2011+ sport owner that wants to swap, most of the inserts pop out easily with a plastic trim removal stick. The bolts are fake!

Just a thought but aren't the 2011 & 2012 interiors similar... If your trading in just make swapping those parts part of the sale... They should be easy to swap.

No regrets here. Extra HP would have been nice, but I just cannot get used to the idea of the 2012 interior. Just didnt suit me.

No regret at all. Just got a 2011 2 door 6 speed manual with a 2 inch lift and hardtop for $9,000 less than retail price. AUS dealers are doing anything to get rid of the 2011's before the 2012 is launched here. Rumor has it that the 2012 2 door will be approx $40,000 when launched here (so much for the AUS dollar being strong).

Would I like the extra power - yes. Do I need it - no. I find the 3.8 and 6 speed is fine so long as you use the gears properly and think about your changes. I was concerned the 3.8 would be underpowered but all in all I find it fine in the manual version of the 2 door. The saving on purchase price was just too good to pass up and I'm loving it.

I find the 3.8L motor in my 2011 to be perfectly adequate. I guess I don't feel the need to speed around town

I do think I would have liked the 5sp. auto though. There is one particular grade on the highway on my home the JK requires a downshift to maintain speed. Kind of annoying but otherwise, I have no complaints.

This is coming from somebody who bought his first jeep last week.. I have known about jeeps for a long time and I see these differences as useless. The "JEEP" is a legend - regardless of its form.

Not at all, yeah it's faster, but i didn't buy a jeep to go fast, i bought a jeep to take the doors/top off and have fun, which is what i did this whole summer with my '11. Besides, I was having trouble selling my truck and in March someone finally bought it for the price I was asking so the opportunity was there and I went for it. I definitely wouldn't have gotten the same financing deal since I pretty much got the APR that I wanted.

Not at all.. got my 2011 last Oct. I had a great year with it..
I do wish I had more room.. several trips into Colorado would have been nice if I had the JKU.
I feel the 2DR 3.8 is fine for how I drive and especially off road... These Jeeps are mountain goats..

Do I wish I had a JKU.... somewhat... once I put the blazer to rest I won't have anything to haul around those bigger loads with...

For now.... Jeep On with the 2DR....

Oddly enough I traded a 2011 on my 2012

I got a better deal on the 2012 then when I bought the 2011, plus a lower interest rate on the amount I financed. My payment went down.

And all the parts and money I was saving to upgrade my 2011 went into and on the 2012!

I traded my 2008 2dr to a 2012 unlimited. I needed to get a 4 door and the payments were about the same.

The interior is nice but I couldn't care less, it's a jeep and I'll destroy it and tear out the carpet backseat whatever when it dies from the weather. I have noticed that it is more durable that I would have thought by looking at it.

The 5 speed auto is the biggest improvement in saw. But all together its still a jeep and it will be driven like one!

The only regret it have is it had a chrome package that I now have to sell because Vegas dealers order it with everything. But dual tops and max tow were worth it!!
