First let me say you're going to love the ARB Frige...it was one of our best investments! We too tried running it on top of the Tuffy Shelf and it does work but hated the fact it was too hard to get in and out of so we fold down the rear seat and strap it in...works better for us but to each his/her own.

Thanks for the replies. Hard convincing the wife to spend the ~$800 on one but I'm working on it. When we have the camper, the fridge will probably just ride in the camper so its not a big deal then... With no camper however, I do want to be able to access it while driving (or just stopped at a rest area quick) so this is why I'm wondering if it can fit on the small tumbled section of the rear seat, with the security deck enclosure all installed? Anyone run this way, or can someone check it out for me pplleeaassee?

Another option, and I could be way off here, can the fridge sit on the tumbled rear seat 40% between the drivers seat and the front of the enclosure? It looks really close, but that would be a good option for us, as the center is taken up by the 2 year old, and the other seat by the 85 lb golden retriever.

Didn't I read you can remove the lid? Do you have to be able to open it pretty much all the way to remove it though?

Thanks!

I've seen the ARB placed on the 40 seat, behind the driver's seat. It worked great and was very convenient for the owners. I've also seen the same ARB on the security deck. Fits good, but u just can't open it all the way. I sooooooo want the ARB. When I have the $$$, I will get it and place it behind the drivers seat. Hope this helps.

Crap I guess I'm not clear... I'm concerned about the fridge getting between the drivers seat (actually the headrest that sits against the drivers seat when tumbled, can this be removed easily?) and the front panel of the security deck enclosure.

We have never had a problem with the headrest being against the drivers seat but neither of us is tall so maybe if you are worried about the leg room I can't speak to that. As for the removing of the front panel to the Tuffy Shelf we can do that on our 2008 version but if you did the ARB (50qt) wouldn't be able to slide under it as the shelf is too low.

Not sure any of that answers your question but I know our 50 qt unit fits great behind our drivers seat allowing the passenger to get drinks food out while were driving on long trips!
