One thing I noted from that, the last part. Liberty sales are down 9%. I bet the 4 door jeep will kill off the liberty. I bet that 9% turns into 40% next year when there are enough 4 door jeeps on the lot.

I agree with that. I actually think the 4 door will cut more like 60% of the liberty sales. In my opinion there is almost no point for the liberty anymore. When it came out it was suppose to have been the Dakar. Now with the Compass, Grand C, Commander, and 2 and 4 door wrangler I'd say the line up is complete. Time will tell but I wouldn'd be surpised if one of the top been counters at DCX decides that R&D would be best not spent on the Liberty. Please all you Liberty owners I mean no disrespect its just an opinion.

You forgot the new Patriot. If not the JK, this thing is definitely going to kill the Libby.

 

They are also redesigning the Libby.

 

Well if thats the case then maybe we'll end up with another winner for Jeep. I'd love to see a hard core Liby that can wip teh pants of any Land Rover and be capable of some serious off roading while still civilized enough for the average soccer mom. Long live the name plate.

The new Liberty is supposed to be out for 2008.

 

It looks like it sucks as bad as the old one. Infact I think it looks like a Nitro. I would bet it is a jeep version of the Nitro. Just like the compass is the jeep version of the Caliber. The patriot just looks like subaru Forester.

 

hopefully it gets a name change to Jeep Gladiator... ok thats a stretch but we can always dream..
