auto or manual...that (is) the question
How much money does the trade out cost you? honestly with tax, tags, resale of your vehicle, double insurance while you own both? Could you put that money in to paint and make yours white?
While you're at it, you can finish painting it (roll bars etc.). Figure what $3500 at a reputable shop?
its not that i dislike my deep water, its more that I really do need a 4dr and love the white unlimiteds.

The only reason I got auto was due to the lifetime warranty on the engine...had it been 5yr/100k I would have got the manual tranny. Plan on keeping it in my name and letting my kids drive it forever, oldest is 12 youngest 6.
Unless you are physically disabled and just can't drive a manny don't waste your time on an auto, especially a 4 speed auto. I'm just under 6'4" and have no trouble driving the manual JK in or out of traffic....it's just worth the added physical activity to me.
Real Jeeps (IMHO) have two doors and manual everything, sounds like you already have one. Not to mention that the heavier JKU with the auto is somewhat under powered, even the 2 door auto is needing a bit more power.
If I needed a four door automatic Jeep, I'd get the Grand Cherokee personally and keep my 2 door all manual JK....but that's just me.
Good luck with your decision, I'm sure it is not an easy one to make. Please post some pics of your new ride if you get one!

Look.....I've had a few jeeps in my lifetime and still have a CJ5. They've always been manuals. This time I went with an auto and I don't miss the manual AT ALL...!!! If you want to try an auto....TRY IT. If you don't like it you can always go back.
