Hey guys i'm looking into buying a jk and cant really find the exact one i want with all the options i want. what i want is kind of an odd ball combo, i really like the vinyl seats, want the freedom top, 6 speed, 3.73, LSD, manual locks and windows, premium sound system in a 2dr X in rescue green. Impossible to find! so i guess i would have to order one. what kind of wait should i expect and what do the average dealer require when you order, how much of a deposit? i havent actually went to a dealer yet, i really hate talking to car salesmen unless its absolutley needed.

 

I ordered a Rubi Unlimited, 6 speed, softtop, half doors, trailer tow, and tinted windows (kinda an odd package for an unlimited rubi) on Feb 4th 2008 and took delivery on March 27th. So about 7 weeks for that. Usually you cannot get one in less than 4 to 6 weeks.

Things are slow right now, so who knows. Depending on outstanding orders, the 2008 ordering may be cut off soon. 2009 production starts after 4th of July shut down.

I had to put $500 down to order. With an odd ball package combination, expect to have to put $$ down.

 

I ordered a rubi in march 26, 2007.... rolled over to 2008 and took delivery at the end of sept 2007. It sucked to go the whole summer waiting to get it when you placed an oreder for it long before and then you get it during the fall season. oh well it was worth the wait, but I think I would just get one that I found on a lot, If I had to do it again, So I do not lose a summer.

 

rubicons seem to take longer. i ordered a sahara in mid december and got it in mid february....just over 2 months.

in my opinion, it is worth the wait to get exactly what you want. i don't spend that kind of money and then say, "i wish i would have........"

Got mine from dealership stock. Only took them a week to make the changes I wanted. Originally, it had a hard top and the six disc stereo. I was able to get the dealership to put the mygig and softtop on there for no additional charge. Just threaten to walk out, then they'll bend over backwards for you

 

got mine in 7 months and 7 days. 2 door Rubi, 6-speed , greystone with dual KHAKI tops. I was told it took extra time to get the Khaki interior and tops because they were supposed to be for the saharas. But it arrived just as I ordered. Then I took it home and took it apart.

 

My Sahara took 3.5 weeks from order to delivery.

 

Ordered 4 door Rubi Feb. 14, 2007, got it on Sept. 19, 2008. I also wish the whole Summer wasn't wasted waiting for it. But it was worth it.

 

Ordered Rubicon Unlimited on 1/14/08, dual top, MyGIG, manual, trailer tow group, power group... ok everything except the ashtray & block heater. Picked up 3/15/08.

So about 2 months for me as well. Definitely worth the wait!
