UPDATE

I got a free set of runs today because of the initial 4th gear run last week when it should have been in 5th. Turns out we cant dyno in 5th. THe reason is that there is a speed limiter on the computer that cuts the engine out at 100mph. WHen in 5th you reach 100 mph at 4500 RPMs and are not able to get a full reading through the entire powerband.

They could have disconnected the sensor from the tranny but since this was a free set of runs I felt bad asking them to do more for me.

I did the run in 5th once and the got 169 HP and 205 Torque. Again, this is because the Jeep cut out at 4500RPM's. I also Ran it in 3rd twice. Highest HP reading in third was 227. Greatest Torgue in 3rd was 204. Of all the runs I have done over the last 2 weeks, the greatest HP reading was in 3rd at 227. The greatest Torque was in 4th @ 214 lbs.

WHen someone finally cracks the computer and we can remove the speed limiter, we will all be able to run it in 5th. Until then, we are stuck using 3rd / 4th.

Dyno Charts to come.

THe chopping pattern apeared again. WHen I asked the guy he said that was due to the ignition system. Thoughts?

I'm not sure why you would make runs in 3rd? I can understand 4th because of the limiter. If you keep jumping around your not gonna get consistent numbers. The jumps on the graph are often the fuel being adjusted by the O2 sensors. The jump at 3800-4000rpm would be from the VVT and I can't remember if the Pentastar uses a variable intake or not but it may change over there too.

I had 3 good runs in 4th. There was really no sense in doing that gear again. 5th was a no go. I had 2 more runs so said WTF and tried third. If anything, its interesting to see how HP is developing throughout the gears. I have searched this forum long and hard and no one has Dynod their 2012 as I have. I hope my runs can act as a benchmark even though I have exhaust and CAI mods.

As far as Im concerned and what Ill be telling people who ask, is that my truck puts out 220 HP and 214 Torque. If the time comes that I can remove the Limiter, Ill run it again. At that point I hope to have a SC on, maybe Turbo, dont know yet.

Well I guess you have had lots of runs now that you mention it. I think you'll show higher numbers in the lower gears cause you have less drag from the transfer case/driveshaft/rear diff. Just remember to go back to 4th for your new runs. Have you thought about changing out the diff fluid yet? My F body friends were picking up 5-10hp with synthetic fluid. It's a mystery what the factory puts it. It's most likely 80w90 or 75-140. If you're not towing some synthetic 75w90 might be an easy upgrade.

I have not thought of that at all. It makes sense since a thicker substance would increase friction. Im actually chasing Torque not really horsepower. After I pay off the bumpers I just bought Ill do a gear job. Looking at 4:56's. THat should increase perceived Torque but not realy show anything on the Dyno.

I was really hoping for some good before and after differences when adding the Banks System. These trucks are just so hard to Dyno.

Just got my CAI as part of my Banks Stinger system for my 2012 JK (exhaust should be here tomorrow). CAI took about 45 mins to install. Sounds great when on the throttle. No miles on it yet, but can't wait for the ride into work!
