Default Banks vs. Airraid

I have narrowed down my choice between the two intakes, I was wondering if anyone knows which one might be better. I know alot of people don't feel these are neccesary, but I have already done my exhaust and thought this would be a logical next step to open up my jk a bit. Plus I have a gift certificate from Xmas burning a whole in my wallet.

I do not have any experience with the air raid filter but I do have the banks cai and like it a lot. It is a closed element and it keeps the engine growl manageable. I have had open filters before on other vehicles they can be loud when you stand on the go pedal.

Well I figure my exhaust is loud anyway and would probably be louder than the intake. I wonder if the intake will make the exhaust louder?

The problem with the 3.8L is the engine itself... not the air inlet or outlet.

Well I don't have any experience with the Banks, but I sure like my Airaid, and most I know that have them do as well. Got a couple more mpgs when I installed mine. The only time I hear mine is when I pretty much floor it.....and that's a good thing.

Thanks, just pulled the trigger on the banks. I can't wait to see how it goes.

Personally, I would not get a CAI.

If you ever get near water, I think the increased risk of hydrolock not worth any potential power gains.

I would gladly give you mine if I ever purchase/make a snorkel with sufficient air flow.
