bedline cost???
But I found that #1, it didn't work, and #2 their profit isn't anywhere near what I would have thought. They use a ton of material to do a jeep tub, and a ton of taping, prep and spraying. If you think about the rollbar, the odd shape, the surface area - it is a pain in the ass to do a jeep. A truck may have a little bit more room to negotiate, but a jeep is going to be a pain and take hours that cost. But the big part is the material. The Rhino guy, despite not knowing what a JK was, was the most open talking about the materials and process. According to him it would take 20-30 gallons to go as thick as I wanted. He had to buy the stuff in two 55 gallon drums, for a price of $2300. Assuming it only took 20 gallons, that is still $420 worth of material - 30 gallons would cost over $600. You add in the shop overhead, the cost of the sprayer, the franchise fee (?), the prep time and the spray time - there really isn't that much they can cut out. Maybe $100-200, but the half price deal I was hoping for was a no go everywhere I called. The prices do seem to vary, but they are all around a pretty tight range. I would guess it is like everywhere else, they weren't making tons and tons of money before - and the recession just means they are making less.
DO IT YOURSELF!! Here is a link to a writeup I just did as I finished mine today using the UPOL Raptor tintable kit. Although it was time consuming, I have less than $200 into the complete job with the UPOL kit, matching paint, misc supplies

I'd imagine they took a big hit due to the economy.
