How did you go about removing the stock muffler?
I am leery to cut the hangers/rubber mounts.

The actual muffler bolts on right where it attaches to the exhaust pipe that bends up and over the rear shocks and springs. I believe a hanger is right there as well. Then you'll probably have to bang it out with a mallet. Use wd40 to remove the hangers from the rubber mounts. Shouldn't have to cut anything if you're removing ONLY the muffler.

I put a Gibson Metal Mulisha exhaust on my JK, couldnt get one of the hangers off, so I cut the rubber mount, which has a metal core, $5 or so from Napa to replace, easy to do with a Dremel, and was a lot easier than trying to muscle it out. And for what it's worth, I hate doing anything other than detailing or electrical work. Yes, I detail my JK.

Lots of PB blaster and twisting. I did cut on of the hangers and repurposed it on the new box.

exactly like you said.

After I removed the muffler I cut the exhaust pipe right under the drivers seat and added in my thrush welded. It tucked up in the frame nicely and doesn't hang down at all.

Turned out great. But now in tempted to run no fuddled at all lol

I love RuffStuff. I'm planning on their 1ton GM offset tie rod ends when I build my tie rod. That should come under $100 if I source the DOM myself.
