Default Best beachside rust prevention?

I have a 07 2door X with 3" lift and 33's. My problem is that I only have 22k miles on it and I am getting rust. The bar across bottom of back seat (visible when seat flipped up) is orange with rust. Even on my lift I can see little bits of rust. I live literally ON THE BEACH in florida and cant put the JK in the garage. I mean I dont go driving through the ocean but I cant wash it EVERYDAY. My buddy has a really nice '97 TJ, but it has lots of rust. He says that there is nothing you can do living on the beach and that the rust "helps hold his jeep together" hehe. Anyways, I plan on keeping this thing till the wheels fall off, but I dont what them to fall off for awhile. So, any beachside jeepers have this problem? Whats the best preventative measure I can take? Is it possibly serious already?

I live near the coast, and rust is a big problem here too

i normally underseal the undercarriage, and make sure that any excess salt/sand is rinsed off as soon as possible.

wash the jeep once a week with good qualty products (zymol/meguiars/etc...)and keep it waxed, plus if you can afford the time claybar the paintwork at least once a year then rewax and polish

POR-15, Do a google. Their products are awesome. If you like what you read, and decide to try, don't skimp. Follow their advice and get the cleaner, prep, por-15, and then the finish. I have used this stuff on lawnmower decks, and my Jeep. It's awesome. Or did I already say that.

Yea there is nothing you can do about the rust. Even the new 08's have rust on em in the dealer lots. It's just a condition of living within 10 miles of the beach and sand. Just wash it at least once a week and be sure to get the underbody as best you can. That's what me and my buddy do. He just got a nearly rust-free 97 TJ down here and it's already rusting and we both live west of US1

Edit: BTW 07armygreen if you haven't registered with the Sunshine State section you should. There's a M & G in Orlando this Saturday and the details are in the Sub-Forum

Even without taking your Jeep onto the beach, the wave action at the beach produces a fine mist of salt that infiltrates everything. My folks lived on the beach in florida for a long time and it was amazing to see an air conditioning unit with a 10 year warranty completely rusted out after just a few years.

Living on the beach, you just have to accept the fact that everything degrades much much faster. You can still drive it until the wheels fall off. . . .it will just happen sooner

In one word...."Bullshit"

Just do yourself a favor and check out the POR-15 stuff. Listening to stuff like that "nothing you can do" is crap.

X 10! I drive magnesium chloride coated roads and everything underneath has rust except the stuff I've por-15'd. Eventually my entire underside will be coated with it.

Has anyone ever checked out the counteract rust prevention system? I thought it looked intresting since they salt the roads here in the winter.
