if you're not gonna be super picky about options and you're not in a real rush i'd say when the 2013s hit the dealerships but i wouldn't be able to wait that long

End of July seems about the perfect time to start. Right around then the dealers still have a good selection of available JKs, where the 2013's will start rolling in around early to late September. So given if you want your best chance at finding one with everything that you want at the best price. Usually end of July through August is prime time. Plus, it's the end of summer in most states where the JKs demand will start to drop right about then also. You could wait until late September for a good price when the 2013's start showing up on the lots, but around then, there isn't much selection left to chose from of the 2012's.

X2. Bought my 2011 this past August 14th on a Sunday night after the lot was closed. It was only me my father, the salesman, and the sales manager. It seemed to work well.

Try Costco auto program, they give you the jeep for 500 under invoice, I got mine like that but negotiated a little more and got it for 950 under invoice.

I think it really depends on your area as well. They have 3K off any wrangler here right now. I know that will likely go to 4 or 5 in July/August.... but is missing a good chunk of the summer worth that 1000 bucks??

I'm in the market right now too, and while I would like to wait a bit longer, I'm finding selection is hurting me. I'm picky on color... I personally don't like Gecko or cherry red, the orange's and cosmos are a bit much for me, and the DFG, black, and silver are 95% of the JK's in my area. I love Sahara Tan, but I missed those... so that only leaves flame red. That said, I'm not a big fan of the body colored fenders on the flames, so that kills off the saharas (which of course there are like 5 of). You can see where I'm going.... I'm looking for a Sport or Rubicon in Flame Red, so I have very limited selection = get it when you find it or get nothing.

So, if you are all game for whatever color (there are probably 30 orange or black here), and maybe don't mind sacrificing on something like gearing (there's hardly anything with 3.73 here), you can probably wait until late summer.... otherwise I think you need to act sooner than later.
