Bestop Trektop (4dr) Issues
Does anyone that has the Bestop Trektop have issues with the velcro not staying secured?
I just bought one a few months ago, and installed it last month when the weather got above 70, and I cannot keep the velcro around the rear door areas secured. The top is stretched well enough, but it seems that the velcro is just not strong enough to stay locked. Maybe I just got a bad top, but before I reported it to Bestop I wanted to see if any other members had the same experience.
I really wish that they had made the rear area the same as the front, where it is secured using a strap as opposed to the velcro, which would have made it much better.

I had one but sold it.
I too experienced the poor fit in cold weather. I believe you need one summer to stretch the top and solve the problem.
Do you guys get wind noise from the two upper front corners on the top? I used silicon to fill it in and it quieted the top down a lot.

I put mine on a couple weeks ago and so far. no leaks. I have some wind noise in the corners, but not too bad. I also have installed a wind deflector on top of the windshield, so that may help prevent leaks.
the velcro can be a bitch, especially if its cool outside. some days mine barely stretch around the surrounds, but I've never experienced not being able to fasten them. Not sure what order you go about putting the top on, but here is what i have learned. whenever i mess with the top, even just to roll it back, I take it all the way off to get it back on. It can be frustrating as hell getting the header on if the top is fastened anywhere else on the jeep.. So with everything undone, I start the with the header bolts, just get them threaded and kinda tight, Then I fasten the plastic clip-in thingies to the sides of the tub, then the surrounds behind the doors (your problem area). then I go back, and tighten the header bolts, finish the door surrounds, tighten the tension straps and re-check the velcro at the door surrounds behind the doors.
Then I get in the Jeep, turn the radio way up to drown out the header noise and hope it doesn't rain, because the top leaks randomly at the seam above the soundbar, around the doors occasionally and sometimes, when I'm really lucky..at the header.
Sometimes it's fine and others it leaks like crazy.
Another thing I have learned is to throw a bow under the top if parked and rain is in the forecast. If it puddles up, it WILL leak.
I've gotten over the shittiness of it, but when i bought it, I did kind of expect it to keep water out.
I'm tempted to try the new version but I might just pick up a factory soft top from someone instead. I like the idea of removable windows, my dogs will be happier in the hot weather.

I sprayed scotchguard on the underside of my top when I first got it out, so I haven't experienced any leaks in the top so far (And we had a good rain yesterday).
I do get an excessive amount of wind noise from the front-right corner, but nowhere else (Unless the velcro becomes unattached on the passenger side). My thinking is that the flap at the extreme corners is catching the wind coming across the header and causing most of the noise issue, but haven't had a chance yet to troubleshoot it yet.
I am hopeful that when the temp goes above 80 that the top will stretch more, but since we have had mostly 75 degree weather for the last few weeks, and lots of sun, I expected it to strech quite a bit already. And yes, when the temp does dip, that top shrivels up quick, to the point that the already weak passenger side velcro will come apart and drift around the corner of the support brace. If they would have just done for the rear passenger area what they did for the front, it would have been a MUCH better fit and saved some heartache. My neigbor owns an interior shop, and I have thought about taking it over there and modifying it but not until I work out the issues with Bestop (Still waiting to hear from them).
If I had known previously that the NX was coming, I would not have ordered this top. This is my first jeep, about a month after I bought it I ordered the top. It wasn't until I saw the latest Quadratec catalog that I saw the NX....not happy, because that was $575 that could have waited.

I have a hard top for cold weather... I'm only gonna use it when it gets nice and hot... So in the end, do yo recommend it ??

The Nx trektop is more like a Gen 2 and it has some design improvements. I'm waiting for them to design a model that fits factory door frames...
It was my understanding that the Trektop NX will fit the factory door frames...
And yes, if you are wanting to buy a trektop either wait for the NX or buy one used from someone who wants to buy the NX.

I have a huge noise problem at both front corners. I've tried most the fixes from the thread dedicated to this issue, with marginal results.
The top doesn't fit well over the frames near the passenger doors. The velcro is almost a waste of time.
To date, I've had no leaks, even with pooling on the top.
I blew out the rivets on the tailgate door snap fit & had to put new rivets in, reinforced by a small piece of steel (the rivets can pull through the plastic).
All said, I like the concept, but the delivery of that concept is fairly poor. Maybe the NX?
