Are you looking for a full top when it's warm out? You could go with a safari header and a duster deck cover. I run that in the summer time and a full top when it starts raining.
The Nx trektop is more like a Gen 2 and it has some design improvements. I'm waiting for them to design a model that fits factory door frames...

Bestop USED to be a quality- product company, until they went to China to fatten their Bottom Line. When will they realize they are losing customers with the lousy quality and attitude? I can only hope competition will give us quality and decent prices. I believe they are the Factory supplier for Chrysler/Jeep, but that must be a different quality control process at least. I will wait to see how the NX reviews before I buy one....
Do you have a recent version of their top or an older one? There was a version that had this issue with fitment around the rear doors that Bestop told me they were aware of when I called about it. It was stitched too narrow around the rear door frame. Ours was a version that was made around the timeframe of summer 2009. You may have gotten one of those or they had the problem happen again. Give them a call and they should replace on warranty. Be advised though that generally they will ask you to go through the place of purchase for warranty replacement.
We have had 3 Trektops. The first was a gen 2 and it leaked as well as had an issue with the rear window. The replacement (on warranty), a gen 3, had this fitment issue. Our gen 4 (also a warranty replacement) has had no issues at all. Does not leak (and we have had a lot of rain these past 6 months) and fits great.
I have never had a problem with their customer service via telephone--and they have always been very nice. Email I never got a response however. We originally bought from 4WP and they were also really good about getting us the replacements.
Now the tailgate bar however; we despise. We have torn the rivets out of two of them so far (they will also replace on warranty). Just too tight a fit and very difficult to get on and off. I am really curious to see more details on the tailgate bar for the new NX version.

I bought mine from Autopartsdealer.com in November 2010, and have no clue what generation it is (Is there an easy way to tell??). I know it has the tailgate bar, which from previous topics I have read seems to have been an added feature later on.
It is nice to know now that they won't respond via e-mail, since I have been waiting a week for them to respond. I guess I will call them.
My issues are mostly annoyance, and I could handily fix if I took the top to a friends shop (Removing the 1" velcro attached and replacing with 1 1/2" or 2"), but just frustrated that I spent almost $600 on something that should have worked better than it currently does. All this from the main supplier of OEM tops for the Jeep....
I can't see using silicone on the corners to fix the issues posted by others. Can someone post a pic of where they were doing this? Was it on the corner flap on the outside of the windshield header?
Thanks for all the replies so far...nice to know I am not alone!

It could have easily been in their inventory for awhile. The tailgate bar came out with the summer 2009 version. Just call Besttop and explain your issue and tell them you know someone else who had theirs replaced and were told from BT that it was a known issue
What they will most likely do is give you a part number (top without the frame) to give the vendor for replacement.
I have hard of others who have gotten luckly and BT shipped them an entire new top directly (and they get to keep the old top) but with all 3 of my replacements..I never had such luck.
Oh..Edit to add that the 2009 version with the problem had a piece of foam on the little side flaps near the windshield (where the door and windshield meet). The "fixed" version they sent me did not. Not sure if that helps any.... but regardless they should replace anyway. It's obviously a fitment issue.

I have no idea what gen they are on..and I think some stay in inventories at vendors for some time so hard to tell what you are going to get unless they are backordered, then you know you are getting a newer rev. I would wait for the new version personally...I think it will be summer by the time they are out from what I've heard.
