I know there are quite a few people on here asking about the trektop etc, anyways I have some updated new on it. I received mine yesterday from 4wd, put it on, everything was fine, till i look at the rear window where there is a 3-4inch area which is not sealed to the fabric at all. So I called besttop and 4wd.....turns out bestop is recalling all the current trek tops due to leaking, header issues and various other things. It is going through a complete redesign and should be out by mid July. It will now come standard with the rear tailgate bar, and new header design.

So I either have the option of keeping this one for a couple months till I get my new one, or just returning the one that I have now. Its a shame that the product is flawed cause it looks sooo damn cool on my rig!

anyways I just thought some people might like an update on the trek top if they were thinking about ordering.

Thanks man, i was just about to pull the trigger on the trek top. I guess i will wait till they get it right.... Mine came from the factory with a hardtop. Is there any additional equipment needed if this is the case? thanks in advance

 

nope, no additional equip. mine came with a hard top as well, its a really nice product, once they fix the flaws it should be awesome!

 

So what does the tailgate bar do? Should I wait till besttop redesigns this. I'm affraid if I order one I'll get the old version. What should I do?

 

I would wait. Apparently they are not putting anymore of the old ones out and are recalling all the ones that vendors still have. So I would wait for the redesign, mid-late july I guess. Should be a much better product from the sounds of it.

 

On the Quadratec site the trektop doesn't come with the bow, is that an option, is it needed. I'm confused?!?!

 

Called Besttop, they said the TREKTOP will have the tailgate bar included in the kit as of now.

 

so if we ordered one at 4wparts last weekend is it safe to assume we will get the new version?

They said it's backordered until august

 

OK I need to call 4WP on this. Been waiting for my warranty replacement Trektop for at least 6-7 weeks due to a faulty rear window. 4WP says they keep telling them "next week" and every week it's the same story. Sort of irritated that this could be the reason holding it up. I'd be happy with at least the current version until the new ones are in...getting tired of that window. At least the weather is getting nicer...maybe we'll just take the dang thing off and be done with it

Did they mention if the tailgate bar was the same one they are currently selling separately? That one is originally for a TJ and has gaps in the weather stripping. Would be nice if it was actually designed to fit the JK.
