Default bestop underseat lockbox

Im sure many of you have this under seat lock box. Mine has been great for the last 7-8 months but now it sounds like a dozen squirrels fighting under the seat. Its terrible, its bad enough my wife is griping about it when she rides with me. Are there any mods to fix this? It really is bad enough that if i didnt need and use it daily i would have pulled it out and trashed it. But since my workplace has a no firearms policy I use it to lock my concealed carry weapon up while at work. Any suggestions?

Thanks
Brandon

You need to check the TX firearms laws for storing in your vehicle. Your company's rules do not apply to firearms in your vehicle. The lock box is not necessary.

um......

It sounds like he is locking it up to keep unwanted people from getting it. Which, quite frankly, is the responsible thing to do.

The company policy of no firearms relates to having them on him when he is at work. I have a similar issue with my place of employment.

Why do you drive with it in the box for it to rattle? If you are carrying it shouldn't you not have to open a locked box to get to it? I only lock mine when I can't bring it with me cause there are way more places than just my work that don't allow to carry.

Companies try to tell people they cannot have firearms anywhere on the premises, including the company parking lot. In Texas, while it is fine for an employer to not allow their employees to bring firearms into their building, they cannot legally keep someone from concealing their firearm in their vehicle. And yes, keeping your firearm locked up is recommended... It just doesn't have to be locked up in a flimsy gun box.

I do lock it up while not on my person but not to appease my company. The lockbox is purely to deter thieves that dont find a soft top jeep challenging enough. And no i dont leave it in there to drive. If im not on the clock its on me at all times. Im not sure if its the actual inside track system of the box rattling or what. The box is very securely bolted to the seat bolts. I need to pull it out and dissassemble it just to see whats making so much noise.

If its concealed well enough, they wouldn't know about it any way. But I do understand, got to keep the boss happy!!!

Well to anyone wondering about my squirrel problem. . its fixed. I had to remove it and take it apart. The problem was the inside track screws loosened up causing the rattle. Easy fix.
