Big Problem With My New Jeep

My Rubi was picked up less than 2, count 'em, TWO, days ago.
Drove it home about 100 miles with no issues. Loved it the entire time. It rode well in spite of the 40 mph headwind. The incessant road work in east Texas was barely noticed even at highway speeds. The MyGig (which I had been somewhat non-committal about proved to be one of the funnest things I have ever had in a vehicle (I'm talking parts of the vehicle here, not activities, mind you
)
The next day I try to go to work in it, and it happens.

I get pre-empted by my wife, who has suddenly decided that the Jeep she had anticipated hating (mid-life crisis BS??!!,... WTF?) is suddenly SO CUTE and she wants to use it that day. WTF goes thru my mind for the second time! That was yesterday, Friday. BTW she and all her BFF's and other GF's loved it, too.
So now it's 08:30 Saturday, my day off, and already I have been "asked" (do you guys speak wife like I have been forced to learn how to speak wife? The Hard Way??!!!) if she can use it again today

. I worked ALL NIGHT LONG LAST NIGHT
. I was just looking forward to taking a nap and then hitting the road.
And then my daughter chimes in about, "You're not going to put a lift kit on that are you? I don't want you to, because then Mom won't want to drive it."
Ding! Now I realize I have to achieve a very difficult task.
I now know I will need to make MY JEEP at least tall enough so she won't want to drive it too much, without making it so tall that she abhors the damn thing and either insists I get rid of it, or take the lift and tires off returning it to stock, or (probably the easiest, but not the cheapest) she decides she'd like one just like the way my new Rubi looked (b4 I screwed it up) but in red, or white, or whatever.
And the othre thing is that each of my kids has tried to schmooze me for it already, and the oldest won' even drive for another 6 months.
DO YOU FEEL MY PAIN AND ANGUISH?

Yea definitely dude. If I was in your situation I retort in this fashion...
Wife "Honey, would you mind if I take the Jeep to the mall with some of my girlfriends. There's a big sale today and we want new shoes."
You (or me) "Ha ha ha. No." (As in, no you can't take it.)
Daughter "You're not going to put one of those lift thingies on it are you? Mom won't be able to drive it if you do."
You (or me) "It is absolutely the first thing I will be doing."
As far as the kids wanting to bogart it when they drive...well if they're salary is enough to make the payments then I don't see why not. Hell, they could just buy there own then, right?
Good luck man.

That's harsh. Sometimes you just have to put your foot down. Luckily, I don't have to fight that battle (at least yet), because my wife doesn't really like my Jeep. But, it would be a battle I would fight to the bitter end if I had too.
This was an easy fix for us......we now own 2 Jeeps....
....and you all think owning 1 is expensive
One of us got a lift.....then the other needed one......one of us got new wheels and tires.....then the other one needed some......Damn. I'm afraid to put on a bumper and winch, I can't afford 2

I feel for you man! But remember, share and share alike. I think it's great that everyone likes your Jeep and wants to drive it. Especially your kids. - you're grooming tomorrow's Jeepers and trail-riders! Just remember to teach them all to wave!

Man that is tuff to take when it is so new. Unbeknownst to me I apparently implemented a strategy to stop my wife from wanting to drive mine. Being the good guy that I am, I included her in the decision process of building my Jeep. I Asked her opinion on colors mostly. In fact, I was certain this one would be silver, but she liked the Jeep Green better. I am glad I went with her preference now. I really like the Green. Anyway, while I was ordering the thing I kinda remember her saying I should get another standard transmission like the TJ. I was leaning toward an auto on this one. I am very glad I went with the auto now!
She tells me I got the wrong one-auto, so she won't drive it.
Sounds backward I know, but so far I have dodged that bullet.
My kids are too young to drive so I don't have that issue yet, but that problem will be here sooner than I think.
Good luck, and we will all be happy to help with opinions on ordering the second JK!

I made the mistake of not getting up when (or before) the wife did today. I knew she was going to the flea market to help a friend with her booth (we also have stuff in it sort of a joint venture however the friend runs it). Well I get up about 1 1/2 hours later and the jeep is missing. Her car is there and thankfully so is the suburban (however it has had battery problems) but no jeep. The good news is she took one daughter with her so I don't have to listen to the arguements all day, the bad news is I had planned to take the jeep out for a bit because I found a powerline trail I want to try. Now understand it is like a 16 mile drive to the flea market to retrieve the jeep and leave the suburban (I don't fit well in the small car being a big guy) and the suburban has been having issues with the battery. The quandry is do I spend the gas and leave her with something that may require I go jump her off or just suck it up and mope around the house all day?????
