Default Bike Rack for JK (In Receiver)

Anyone find a good bike rack for the JK??? I would prefer one that uses the receiver as opposed to the 5th wheel.

Will racks that worked for older Jeeps work for the JK's?

Will those racks work with the 18" Dueler on the back???

I'll be haulin 2 Cannondale F Series One an XL and the other a L

Think I found one. You can search by vehicle and the JK's are listed on the Thule site. I'll pick one up in a couple weeks and let everyone know if it works.

Default I struck out with a bike rack.....Anyone have luck???

i special ordered a Thule rack that according to their website would fit a JK. It did not. There is a post that sticks up out of the receiver that is too high and the tire hits it. The guy at the bike shop said he thinks the only one that will work is the spar tire mounted bike racks, which I would rather not have.

There has to be something out there that would allow for a hitch bike rack for a JK with 18's.

Anyone have luck? I'm striking out here...

Default Have any of you tried this...

How about this in combination with one of the standard hitch mount racks.....?

Receiver Extender

Might be worth a try.

I bought this rack from Performance Bike:

http://www.performancebike.com/shop/...tegory_ID=4411

It fits fine with the 18 on the back. When carrying 2 bikes, you do have to remove the pedal closest to the wheel so it doesn't scratch, but that's it.

Default What do they mean by open without removing the rack?

Thanks for the tips, I will go with one of these options for sure, just trying to avoid another special order and then return.

Default Saris B.A.T.

I got the Saris B.A.T. A plate sits behind the spare tire (not on it) and a post protrudes through the center of the wheel mounting the body of the rack. For my stock Rubi I had to get the 'A' mounting plate. For some reason their website lacks this actual product but certain MounTain Bike Review sites show it to also have worked well on Wrangler's and It's stocked at my local bike shop. It's solid and will only be a pain whenever I need access to the spare... otherwise the bikes swing out with the door now, which is great.

here is what I use, it is shoen with my over sized tire but I had it on with the stock tire and the rear door opened all the way but that is with the bike off the rack but it only takes a couple of seconds to take the bike off and get in the back and I also had to use a 7" hitch extension for it to work it is a yakima hook up 2, thule also make a similar one but it will not let you open the back swing gate.
