Has anyone used this? If you have, is the service free? Is there a microphone somewhere in the car that works for the whole setup?

Doesn't work in the JK.

 

Hey there is a thread somewhere on here that says something about the uconnect and the voice recg. does not work with the JK. Something about the mygig goes in several different DC vechiles. I tried it in my JK and it tells me not avaiable. Hope that helps

 

Forget uconnect, it does not work in the Wrangler. I have AVIC-Z1 with Bluetooth and it works great.

 

They use the head units in other vehicles.

 

Because the same radio goes into 5 or more other DC vehicles. The same reason that the 4.0 was killed. It does not make sense to manufacture a particular item for one model when you have something else that will fit.

The same holds true for the radio. Other models use the same radio in the JK, but they have the additional components that make the system work.

 

Man I hate bluetooth. If people don't see it's in your ear, they think you're......

 

It absolutely does suck. They could have used one of those buttons for RANDOM.

I've got about 30GB of music on my six discs. But no random option (or REPEAT- if you have kids, you know what I mean here).

Sigh.
