Brake pads already.....
I just had to replace my rear brake pads, is this normal i only have 33k miles and what i find strange the rear wore out before the front.
could this have been cause by the ESP braking constantly? ever sice i put on my lift and 35" my ESP goes off on turns.

damn... i was wondering how long the brake pads would last on these JK's. if you are hitting 33k and just now needing them, then it'll be a while for me.
But when i last rotated the tires, i did notice that the rears are wearing ever so slightly faster then the fronts. i think you're right in that the ESP is making the rears grab more often and causing them to wear faster.

I'm curious as to how long they're going to last, I do go easy on the brakes though. If you are having constant ESP interaction then that would certainly not help you r brake pad life, I would get that addressed.

While i was managing a tire store/shop, we frequently saw vehicles come in needing rear brakes replaced before the front. i cant remember exactly what causes that, would have to ask my mechaninc again. but it IS common to have the rears wear out before the front, so you are good!
also, check out other forums for different types of vehicles ie. mustangs, acuras, gm vehicles, etc... they are all having this same conversation

It would make sense for the rears to go first if the front pads were thicker than the rear. The front brakes do 70% of the braking, so if they are the same thickness and the same type of brakes, it is weird.

Turn the ESP off by holding it in for at least 5-7 seconds. This should keep it off for turns. You must not be moving to disengage the esp this way. It will reset the next time you turn on the ignition.
