Default brick under the accelerator

Has anyone, messed with the springs on the pedal or the throttle body to get rid of the feeling of having to push so hard to get the pedal to initiate movement?
Its hard to initiate smooth acceleration, I'm used to the old cj's, they were smoother.

I don't feel what you're saying. I don't think anything on an old cj was smother, only my opinion.

I think you got something wrong. My gas pedal moves if I even think about it.

interesting. Mine is so stiff that when you first push down on the pedal it will actually pop, feels like stepping onto a large piece of bubble wrap.

I know what you mean.

I think it has some to do with the fly-by-wire feel more than anything.

When I lightly press my accelerator the engine RPMs hardly move. If I push it ever so slightly further, I instantly jump to 2k-2.2k RPMs.

It kind of gives the feeling that it "pops" down some. Just like if you have a stuck gate latch... you put a little pressure on it and it won't budge. Put a little more and it snaps open. There seems to be no sweet spot.

yeah. that's it. stupid drive by wire. I agree with your comments regarding it sucking and previous vehicles being smoother.

the drive by wire can't be causing the physical resistance. I am going to get under the dash and see if I can mod the pivot or return spring on the pedal to smooth out this initial resistance to movement.
