Default Paint

Paint your vent, speaker, shifter and/or interior light bezels to match/contrast your exterior color.

some of the painted vents do look decent actually. Some can get over the top/ricey though.

How about improving the trunk cargo space ?

Either, make a plywood deck lid for the cargo area - there are a number of decent JK write-ups already.

or add with modificatoins the plastic Bestop cargo tray, pic below. It provides me witha two-tiered larger cargo storage and improves security for lower cargo trunk.

Another cheap, very useful mod : I bolted in a steel lock-box to the trunk floor of my 4-door. Benefit for me is this box is big enough to securely hold tools and trail gear, small enough so I can continue using the stock rear cubby and remaining trunk, and can still open and close the lockbox with the Bestop Duster cover over it.

Default Brackets?

Nice idea with the Bestop cargo tray... what did you use for mounting brackets?

I like Westchester's idea for the lock box. It's cheaper than a trunk and much cooler in my opinion. Now if I could just get the ambition to do one myself.

I use this cargo tray all the time and surprised it hasn't yet become a popular addition for many on the forum. I bought the 2-door JK Bestop cargo tray mounting kit, and modified the mounts to fit my 4-door and cut the plastic cargo tray so the soft-top will fold into position. Not alot of work if your handy, details and write-up is here :
