I am kicking myself for missing last weeks Smitty Built buy one get one front and rear bumper set sale. I am completly floored at the cost of some of the bumpers out there, especially for what they are (a piece of 3/16 steel, two bends, and end caps welded on). My dad, a master welder, says if he had access to the metal working tools, he could knock one out for proabbly $40 in material and a couple hours in time for something that a manufacturer is asking darn near $500 for. I'm just looking for a stubby with a gril protector/light bar, that I can eventually mount a winch to.
Nothing on ebay, craiglist, or any forums can be found for a reasonable price it seems.

 

Welcome to jeep parts. Honestly though I don't think forty bucks will buy much 3/16 ths steel plate.
