Default bumpers

Was all ready to get the Rugged Ridge XHD front and rear but discovered the Aberle aluminum front shorty. Super light, has tow hooks, a winch plate, mounts for the stock fog lamps and is American made. Anybody got one of these out there?

i think with any new products... since the JK is a completely different vehicle a large sum of the total price is hung up and Research and development. As their production becomes more streamlined, the prices should* go down.

*I noticed a price drop in TJ, YJ, CJ parts when the JK came out. Perhaps the next Jeep design will do the same favor for us.

Default Aberle Bumper Fan

I just bought an Aberle bumper. I love it! Yes, it was expensive, but it is aluminum, it won't rust, it only weighs 60.6 pounds (plus 12.8 for the recovery hooks and nuts/bolts) but the piece of crap stock bumper weighs 42.2 with fascia. I didn't want to have to re-spring my front end with a 100 pound plus bumper. Aberle's is like a piece of art! He is doing his first few at an introductory price, apparently, so with shipping I was under 800.

No, no border fees, no extra hidden charges. Just good old fashioned take it in the heiny-hole cause us Alaskans are all sitting on oil claims and have money coming out our ears. And it's not any certain manufacturer it's the USPS, UPS, and FedEx making these rules.

Ok, rant off and back on topic

I like how bumpers for the TJ cost $200-$300 for a decent one, but you can't get any JK bumper for that. I can only hope that one day some company will come out with a simple, reasonably price bumper set for the JK.

Not only are they ridiculously expensive, but people seem to think it's okay for the company to make their customers wait months at a time before receiving them. I don't care how awesome it looks or how fantastic the quality is. Waiting more than two weeks for a product you paid for upfront is bullshit. Period.

That e-bay bumper sure looks cool...but I wonder how heavy it is, and how the height of the on-top of the rails winch mount versus the between the rails design will affect air flow to the radiator?

this was getting on my nerves when shopping around for parts, that's when I just started calling the companies to see if it was in stock instead of click buying... I hate waiting for stuff, especially weeks on end.
