Bumper / Winch Combo Question #1
Start with the easiest...
Anyone know of a reputable winch (not wench you one track minders) that is compatible with our stock Rubi bumper (with currently available mounting hardware)?
...and should I even care about the stock bumper or should I just accept that I need to get a new bumper if I want to place a good winch?
I understand the discos could pose an issue for mounting and I'd really like to find something that will also not interfere with our current towing setup (all 4 down behind our RV - so front is already a bit congested).

From this group??
So how about if I suggest the vehicle might be on the edge of a game preserve but on the legal side of the road? By the way - I thought the hypothetical was a great way to get folks thinking. Very nice!
Anyone?
And dare I ask if 9500 is underpowered?

Sorry at least one of those was me checking in to see what folks migh have recomended. I will be checking back in when I notice anything new because I too want to know. BTW is there a difference between a Rubi bumper and the other 2?
I believe warn makes a winch mount for the stock bumper, but It is about $300 but for a little more $$ you could get a new metal bumper. I have an 8000 # winch and a 9500 # would work great too.
I believe that a common formula on winch size would be 1.5 times your vehicle weight as a minimum.
You could make your own mount for cheaper, if you can do stuff like that or know someone that can do it for you.
Not much information, but I hope this helps.

Not certain if there is a difference in the physical bumper or not but there was a thread about inserting a winch into the stock bumper (looked great) with the caveat that it wouldn't work with a Rubi because of the disconnents getting in the way.
