Default Buy Back Phone Call

Hey everyone! I recently got a call asking me to take my 09 JKU to my local Jeep dealer to have it appraised because they were looking to buy back some Jeeps to re-stock their used car inventory. Has anyone got the same call? Should I go see them? Thanks in advance.

X2
Sounds like a gimmick to get previous buyers back into the stealership so they can steal your Jeep from you and make more money off of you at the same time when you sign another loan. Then they get to jack up the price on your used Jeep and sell it to some poor schmuck who falls for the same trick.

Do you have the lifetime drivetrain warranty? I heard rumor that they were trying to buy those back.

Default Phishing

They are totally Phishing for new business.
Your State may even have a "no phishing law"
so if they try to do something like that again,
I would hold their feet to the fire and let the
State Attorney General know what is going on.

Be sure to include the date & time of the call
and if at all possible a recording of the conversation
usually goes a long way into proving they are
breaking the Law.

At the very least I would contact the BBB
and let them know this is going on and that
You'll be waiting to see if they try it again.

Just my 2 cts.

p.s.; My Wife says to run a scam on them when
they call again. The best ones usually involve
a couple of people screaming bloody murder while
You try to stay calm and tell them your busy
at the moment, but you'll return their call if they
give you their number... They usually hang up.

I sure do. That was actually my first thought. Either way I'm going to see them since I need to take her in for an oil change.

They do this all the time. I get them from a bunch of dealerships for cars I don't even have any more.

It's called sales. They do buy your vehicle when you trade it. They will buy it outright, too, because these days they quote auction pricing. No such thing as "trade-in value" like on the Kelly Blue Book site.

The "trick" is making you think it's a special program or a unique sale. That's just people trying to make a buck. We all produce widgets for some company that tries to sell things the same way. Car dealers just get bad raps because everyone gets a different deal and no one can be sure if they made out ok or got f*cked. And there's nothing we Americans hate more than not getting the "best deal." Their greed plays to our greed. All you can hope for is they use lube and don't go all prison break on you.

Saturn had fixed prices on new cars and they didn't survive. Their product was fine - but we are slaves to the bargain hunting.

So don't blame the sales guy, finance manager or anyone else for the system. It's the system you support and maintain every time you cha-ching out the door in another vehicle.

Why would they want it because of the warranty? They still get paid on warranty work one way or another. I don't think this would be an actual "Jeep sales gimmick" to get them out of it so the warranty then becomes useless as it is not transferable to the second owner.
