A/C / Radiator Fan Issue Help 3.6L
Hey guys, first time poster. Sorry in advanced but this is a long post.
So about 2 weeks ago my A/C started blowing warm. I went and got a charging kit, system was a little low, so I added refrigerant and noticed there was no change. So far I’ve narrowed the issue down to the radiator fan.
- A/C compressor functions and kicks on with AC on.
- fan runs at a slow speed intermittently but just not run fast / high (I think this is where the issue lies)
-I’ve taken the fusible link off at the pos battery terminal and snugged it down- no change
-I’ve disconnected the fan wiring harness and blew out the connection and reconnected it - no change
-ground by the power steering reservoir looks good
-I did not have a check engine light but I ran codes, nothing for the fan, had a fault for the lo beam, cleared the code - no change
I’ve seen a few forum posts the seem to point in the right direction and then go radio silent. Im thinking the PMW (might have the abbreviation wrong) but the wire that changes fan speed is faulty or not getting a signal from the TIPM. As far as I’m aware there aren’t any fuses I can truly check cause this isn’t like the 3.8L where the relays matter.
anyone with any experience with this issue who figured it out without dropping a new fan or TIPM in without knowing for sure that is the issue, any feedback is welcome. The only thing left I can think of to do is try and get a program to see if I can manually run the fan at high speed to see if it’s a fan issue.
thanks!
