Default CAM question

I want to change my CAM so that I can get that cool muffled sound out of my jeep. Do I need to change my CAM or do I need to alter the timing.
here are my stats:
JK 2011
4 inch lift
35 DC Tires
dB exhaust

any input is much appreciated!!!

Changing either on a modern computer controlled engine will require custom computer tuning as well.

Changing the cam because of engine sound/noise is pretty silly anyway, and won't do what you want it to do. You'll sacrifice low-end torque and likely not be able to realize the top-end power gains without a lot of EFI work, and you probably will have to do a piggyback system like a Megasquirt to tune it. And it won't sound different anyway unless you chuck the EFI and switch to a carb and a short manifold. And you'll have the CEL light up all the time because the idle will be rough enough to tell the ECU it's misfiring.
