Default Camping Project

I have seen several posts regarding camping ideas and projects. Wow...this is an inovative group. My wife and I are going camping and have decided we really like the idea of sleeping in the JK with top off but keeping the hard doors on. I put the seats down last night to ensure the blow up mattress will work for us and we are all good there. We were discussing Mosquito's so I am thinking of going to pick up a double net from Bass Pro Shops and putting it over the top. It might not fit so I might pick up a second. Not sure if the shape will work out or if its large enough to cover from front of windshield to tgate. Anyway...has anyone fabbed anything that fits a 4 door and covers all that is just netting only? She had the idea of getting two nets and connecting with fabric if necessary. Then adding throughout the bottom sections magnets covered in felt or fabric to prevent damage to the paint etc..

Thoughts?

I did window screen on the back window of the hard top, but not the entire Jeep. Just light up a few citronella (sp?) candles maybe?

There is a product called MAGIC MESH that is a screen with magnets. They are very cheap (2 screens for $15 or so) and they work. My friend has them for his ranch house... converting them to Jeep use could be super easy.

Sounds easy enough but my thought is it would be easier to get a large size mesh and then manipulate that to fit the top (something you can cast over the top and strap down). Possibly the double sized but I need to measure to see. If one doesnt work we would get two double sized and just weave through to connect in areas to seal up gaps and bind together. Not dead set on the magnet thing as there might be an opportunity for straps similar to a bikini top. Then cut an opening somewhere to get in and out (this would be a good place for magnets possibly). Might let a couple bugs in but we would hit ourselves with bug spray first. Anyway...keep the idea's coming. Once we get this completed I will throw up some pics for you guys.

Something similar to this but more geared towards our idea.Click image for larger version
