Default Can the Seatbelt beeper be turned off?

Most of the time, I do wear my seat belt. But, sometimes, I don't. And, I haven't yet figured out how to turn off that annoying seatbelt indicator bell. If it just beeped a couple of times and then left you alone, I'd be ok with that. But it doesn't. As you all know, it gets faster and faster if you don't comply - like an old grandma yelling at you!!

Now, I know some people out there probably think seatbelts should be worn at all times. I don't really want to know how my skull's going to immediately get bashed in if I don't strap on my seatbelt before leaving my driveway. I just want to know how to deactivate this thing. PLEASE HELP.

Yes, you can turn it off and it is very well worth it IMHO. I have kids and it seems I'm always last to get situated with belt on when pulling out from the house and now don't have to hear the annoying alarm.

Check the owner's manual, there's a sequence of snapping and unsnapping seat belt with key in certain position.

I drove without the seatbelt to see if the beep would shut down. IT DOES. Just raise the volume on the radio and drive, in about three minutes the beep will stop.

See page 45 of the owner'r manual.

After you turn the key to "On",

be sure to let the seat belt light go off
before beginning the sequence of seat belt
clicks.

Thanks guys, I'll consult the book tonight. BTW, the beep goes away for a few seconds, but then it starts in again - it doesn't let up, and it has to be the most annoying beep combo I have yet to encounter!
