Yikes... good luck with that battle.

I'd try a slow offroad first... like a two-track thru the woods or something. Invite them along. You may be able to show them how fun it is.

Big thing... don't keep bringing it up. If they say no, then wait a few months and ask them again.

first off...

2wd or 4wd??

Second, they bought it so they pretty much got supreme rule over it. Here is your best bet. Be good, take extremely great care of the jeep. Keep it clean, dont scratch it, keep the oil change, do good in school, around the house, everything helps! But mainly do good to your jeep. Show them your responsible then maybe after a little bit they will let u take it off road.

BTW, how old are u?

I told my daughter to check her oil every time she filled up the car we bought her to take to college. Didn't stop her from blowing it up by running it dry of oil

Well, if your older than 18 then I'd say you can do whatever you want. Even if you were my kid and just got it for your 16th, I'd still say you could do whatever you wanted.

Tell them that it's not fair to you. Gifts shouldn't come with conditions. Me? I'd do it anyway and not tell them, not that I'm condoning that.

Turn them on to this site, show them that you want to hang with responseable 4 wheelers. Take them for a ride as was said up above. true 4 wheeling is not going 90mph on a dirt road, but getting out and walking faster then you can drive.

It is a 4wd. They shouldnt have to worry about it getting dirty b/c I work at the jeep dealership washing cars on the weekends so it is always spotless. I will turn 17 this august.

Your parents bought you a new jeep

Quit whining...save your money, and buy your own. Then you can do what you like with it. Until then, it is really their jeep. Whoever pays your way has the right to make these kind of decisions. When you pay your own way, you are the boss.

By the way, your parents rock!
