Mine just went into D-1 status, though it looks like it may be too late.

im sorry to hear that people with orders in.

I wonder if Plastech makes the inferior interior dash components for the Wranglers, if they do I wonder if that means that once they get a new supplier, will they fix the scratching issues????

Might be a good thing long term

From Plastech's website:

"...responsible for the design and engineering of the Sound Bar component for all future model Jeep Wranglers."

That sucks! What makes it worse is that I can't imagine dealers are going to be offering very good deals on what they have on the lot now. Demand isn't going to go down with spring coming, and the supply is certainly going to drop.

I hope they find a company in the USA and raise the 63% made in the USA to something like 99.9% made in the USA.

I know it's not good news but in the long run I hope it turns out. BTW I bet they keep enough stock on hand to finish orders.

At least I have a firm price on mine, signed by the sales manager. When it finally arrives, I just hope that they don't sell it out from under me to someone willing to pay more.

Actually, they said it was "just in time" manufacturing, meaning the parts don't hit the plant until Jeep needs them. Plus, their current production line is set up for Ford and GM.

Course, the problem is that nobody but a China company is probably going to be able to turn this around quickly enough. They might already be making cheap copies of them anyway! And as the article says, the Plastech was based in Michigan, so if anything it'll probably drop the percentage of USA parts.
