Default Car wash

I Know that washing my JKU by hand is obviously the best way to clean but has anyone with a soft top gone through a car wash with brushes and what not? I didn't know if it would damage my soft top or what would happen. Any experiences?

I've had no problems. You might get a couple scratches on the windows, but mine have too many from the trails so I can't tell the difference. The only problem I have is when I forget to take my CB antenna off.

When not hand washing I go and its fine. Occasionally a leak here or there but no big deal. During the summer the tops down most the time and I don't want to put it up for a drive thru so I wash it myself.

Ya I washed mine in the driveway with no doors and got a double take from the neighbors. It wasn't bad though. I kinda liked having less of it to wash. Did it in sections and mostly dried it with a leaf blower.

If you do take it through use a laser wash, or remember to take you antenna off if you go through one with brushes. I had a wash with brushes that ripped my antenna off in the first week of owning.

I just go to the shaded wash-it-yourself places. That way I can spray all the mud off underneath to saves my eyes from dirt clumps during oil changes and I don't worry about scratching anything. I dry it off there with some towels I bring and when necessary I just wax it in the garage when I get home.

I always hand wash but then have to quick get to the car wash for a spot free rinse. Apparently our water is horrible for spots.
