Default Certificate of Free Replacement?

Okay so we finally got the 35" tires I've been wanting to run but at the time of install they only had the four tires so I went back today and dropped off the spare so it can get the last 35" tire installed. While there another sales guy asked if there was a particular reason I waved the "certificate of free replacement" since it was offered for $100 for all five tires...

My question(s):
a. looks like the fine print states it does not include damage caused by poor inflation, off-road, etc. so has anybody bought this type of insurance and used it for off-road damage?
b. has anybody bought the insurance and needed it for on road damage? If so, was it worth it or did they find a way to wingle out of it?
c. needed this type of insurance but did not have it for something that would have been covered?

Thanks for the feedback!

Who ya getting the tires through? I've dealt with Discount Tire a lot when I was in the lower 48 and short of running over a grenade and blowing a tire up they would replace a tire no questions asked.

Right. I just got done talking to Pat at Discount this morning and he told me they would replace them no matter what the cause. From just a nail to a full blown blowout and anything in between.

Yeah Discount Tire,
Thanks that's exactly the type of feedback I was looking for......cost seems to be worth it if they replace them and don't try to wiggle out of it!

Don't hesitate on the certificates from Discount Tire. They will warrant just about anything with no questions asked. Well worth my money.

Discount Tire is Great, But to the OP you should also consider Les Schwab, mostly a west coast thing were as Discount Tire is US wide, But in my experience Les Schwab is an even better store with better service.
