Default Check your warranty.

Don’t know if this is just dealer shenanigans or a problem with their warranty department. My 2008 JK that I bought new has an unlimited powertrain warranty and the max care package. The dealership said when the car is brought in in December that lifetime warranty was good. They just called me today and said that when they try to put the claim in that, it only shows a six year warranty now. That’s funny because I just got warranty work done in June or July and they did the five-year inspection. So now the Jeep it’s just sitting there with a broken transmission. I am currently buying a new Jeep and have the paperwork on my desk right now contemplating whether to sign it and buy a new one. I’ve always had a jeep and thought I would always have one, but their customer service is getting worse and worse.

Look at the US manufactured vehicle called a Toyota Landcruiser. In my sights not a Jeep until they dump that POS Pentastar. And the turbo engine needs premium fuel - good luck finding that fuel up north. Lucky to find flammable regular.

Being the owner of the 2.0L turbo, it does NOT require premium fuel. The owner's manual is clear that 87 octane is fine. You can run 91 if you want to squeeze out a bit more performance.

Agree the Pentastar is not a "star", unless you enjoy fixing cracked oil housings.

What Toyota Land Cruiser is built in the US??

Default Update

Talked to the dealership the other day said he was on the phone with corporate for a few hours. Apparently, they have no records of my three five-year inspections. And my registration and title are not good enough to prove that I own the Jeep I have to have my original bill of sale from the dealership that I bought it from. I have all the paperwork, but I’m in the process of moving so it’s packed away in a box. The dealership that did the five year inspections show in their computer system that the inspections were done. The excuse from corporate was they can’t see dealership information because they’re independent and it’s a privacy issue. Did not know that vehicles had HIPAA laws, the dealerships told me that was BS and corporate can see everything. Oh, and by the way, I have until the seventh of February to come up with the paperwork or they permanently cancel my lifetime warranty!

I tried calling Jeep cares that was a joke. They gave me a case number and told me they would call me back never heard anything from them.

The paperwork I had for my new Jeep I put right in the shredder. I’m done trying to buy a new Jeep.

I stopped at a Toyota dealership to look at a Tacoma. They had a few land cruisers there a test drove one. My wife bought a 2024. Toyota 4Runner she really likes it.

Well that's bad news! I have a 2009 Ram 1500 with the lifetime powertrain warranty. It's been a great warranty so far, but I hear more horror stories about the warranty being bought out or (like yours) canceled for no good reason.

Default Another update

Jeep cares only responds by email. Turned in all three inspections. But they still want the original sales receipt they claim I’m not the original owner. Even though I have the title and the dealership that has been repairing it this whole time and all the other paperwork states that I am the original owner. When I emailed her back about and asked for the documentation that states that I’m NOT the original owner all I keep getting back as we needed your sales receipt. I did cancel my purchase of a new Jeep Rubicon. So congratulations you lost a lifetime Jeep customer. Whatever that’s worth.
