If Jeep was bought by someone else, I would rather it be people who have experience with similar type vehicles such as Land Rover or Toyota. I know they aren't US car makers but I could deal with that.

Even though Fiat has taken over MGT, at least they're pretty much letting Jeep run as a separate entity. They know that Jeep is a cash cow and want to preserve it.

Temporary production lines happen al the time.
They probably ran out of Mighty 3.8Ls or the engine supploier refuses
To continue producing crappy engines.

When I picked up my new dark charcoal Sahara unlimited on Friday the dealer told me the company that makes the hard tops is out of business. Chrysler has found a new company to make the hard tops but they are behind in getting things up and running. So in the mean time the dealer said they are unable to order any new jeeps with hardtops as an option only soft tops. He also informed me the Wrangler is pretty much one of the only models keeping Chrysler afloat.
