I have a soft top with the zip windows all around (no glass windows), is it safe to use windex to clean those windows??

i don't think it would be a problem... i don't use windex. I use these wipes i got at a computer store used for cleaning laptop screens. works like a charm, except i have use like 3 of them on the rear window alone.

I would not , it will streak really bad. Get the Mopar window cleaner or I found a plastic window cleaner at Auto Zone (can't remember the name) and that seemed to do a good job.

The main thing is to clean the window with a mild soap and water first to get any dust, dirt, etc. off, rinse it, then use the plastic window cleaner to give it a shine and remove minor scratches.

i used to detail cars when i was in college and shortly after. i prefer any of the foam window cleaners that come in a can......and use a nice soft chamois. get it good and soaked, wring it out pretty good, and use the foam.

like this:

EDIT: i never heard of the plastic window cleaner. that has to be pretty good......i still love to use the chamois tho.

I wash my Soft tops vinyl windows with dish washing soap. I've been cleaning them this way for almost a year now and have no cloudiness or yellowish tint.

Dont use windex, use plexus or a similar plexiglass type cleaner. I have used regular car wash to wash them along with the rest of the Jeep, then used Meguire's wax on the plastic portion of the windows and mine look like new, with the exception of the scratches from bushes/trees I have on them.
