Default CO2 tanks, use nitrogen?

Looking into a way to air back up after hitting the trails. A coworker of mine has a CO2 tank he uses with a yellow hose on it he bought. I was curious. Can I use nitrogen in that tank? Is it safe to use nitrogen in car/truck tires? we use nitrogen to service our aircraft tires and it would be super easy for me to fill a tank up with nitrogen at work. Would this work? Any ideas?

C02 is stored in a liquid state and then becomes a gas at umm...atmospheric pressure? (I think thats the right term)
Nitrogen would have to come in a compressed state to be enough to fill all your tires. The co2 tank IS NOT capable of carrying high pressure compressed gases.

CO2 and Nitrogen use the same regulators and the tank storage pressures are close but I cannot remember what they are at say 70DegF. Do a little NET research and I'm sure you'll find the the info.

As to using Nitrogen in your tires it is do-able. I have nitro in my tires ATM but I'm going to switch to air and just use a portable compressor. Might not be as fast but I'll never run out and it takes far les space and no guages to worry about.
