Default Coil Lift?

While doing some research on lift kits, I came across a 2.5" Skyjacker coil lift. For about $100 more than the TF 2.5BB with shocks, you get a full 2.5" kit, with coils and shocks. Now, I don't know about any other lift of this size and price range, so I'm very curious about it.

Are there any benefits from getting a coil lift over a lift from just blocks? Is there more articulation?

Being 2.5", do the same rules apply as teh budget boost lifts? (I.E. do you need to upgrade anything else? or is it install and go?)

Who here has the skyjacker 2.5" lift? Would you recommend iet?

Why is the installation a little more complicated?

Any information on this will be great! Also, any 2-2.5" comparable coil lifts would be great to know about too!!

While I have no experience with the Skyjacker kit, I have run the TeraFlex 2.5" BB and can tell you that it is a great kit that comes with everything you need to easily clear 33" tires and 35" tires with only minor rubbing at a full flex. If you plan on going taller in the future, I'd recommend going this route or even better, get it with the shock adapters and save more. Then, when you're ready to go big, you will have more cash available for it. New taller coils will provide more flex but if you're just going to stick with 2.5" of lift, I would recommend something like the new Old Man Emu kit. They have always been the leaders when it comes to 2"+ lift kits.

I'm not so sure I'm ever going to go bigger than 2.5", only because of the lack of $$$! There seems to be a lot involved in going bigger than 2.5"'s, and that's a money pit I'm not ready to jump into.

I'm looking to put 33's on my JK, so that I don't have to upgrade the gears right off the bat. And while I know you don't need a lift for 33's, I just feel it'll balance out nicely, and let me get a little more clearance.

With that being said, i think the OME kit is really nice. However, at $700, it doesn't make much sense to me. That's why the Skyjacker kit has me scratching my head. $450 for 2.5 inches of actual lift? Seems like a decent bargain, no?

Again, if money is an issue, I think the TeraFlex 2.5" BB is a much better value and I guarantee that you will be more than happy with it. But, if you're determined to get the Skyjacker kit, make sure that you buy the option rear track bar reinforcement bracket as well as without it, the standard bracket that comes with the kit may break your factory axle mount right off the axle. This has happend to dozens of people here with this exact kit.

I Have A 2.5 Sky Coil Lift And If I Had To Do It Over Again I Would Have Just Got A Spacer Lift . I Like To Drive Mine To Work (30miles)so I Don't Believe I Will Ever Buy 35's, Maybe When I Retire It Or Gas Takes A Plunge. And Have The Money To Regear.
